At the age of 48, co-founder of the Beastie Boys Adam Yauch has died. Yauch was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 after finding a tumor in his salivary gland. Yauch, also known as MCA, did not take part in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction due to his treatment.
The group, which also includes Mike D and Ad-Rock have not preformed live since the summer of 2009. The group originally started out as rock group in 1979 but turned towards more of hip-hop in later years. There has not been a statement released from the band or family yet.
