The Commodores is an funk/soul band of the 1970s and 1980s. The members of the group met as mostly freshmen at Tuskegee Institute with lead singer Lionel Richie.  The Commodores won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance Group with Vocals.  Known for their R&B hits Just to Be Close to You, Easy, Brick House, Three Times A Lady, Zoom, Sail On, and many more. The group is credited with seven number one songs and a host of other Top Ten hits on the Billboard charts.    The Commodores Magic Midday Celebrities!
