Columbus police are serving search warrants at several Columbus high schools in connection with the investigation into attendance data manipulation. The Attorney General’s office confirmed that the search warrants were being served to several Columbus City Schools high schools Thursday morning, including Linden McKinley High School, Whetstone and Centennial High School.

The State Auditor’s office investigated allegations that schools attempted to improve performance ratings by manipulating data, known as “scrubbing.”

The auditor’s office determined that Columbus City Schools improperly removed students from records.

CCS spokesman Jeff Warner released a statement that the district and schools are fully cooperating with authorities who are seeking student records via the search warrants.

Warner said the district has cooperated fully with the investigation since it began, and the will continue to do so.
