CLEVELAND – The body of an unidentified woman found around 8 a.m. Tuesday on Anderson Avenue and East 93rd Street in Cleveland leaves one family in fear.

Police said a man walked into the Cleveland Police Department’s fourth district, saying he found a decomposed body while cutting back brush.

“I walked down here everyday for exercise. I didn’t see or smell nothing,” said Peter Evans who lives down the street.

Police said all they know so far is the body is a female.

“Because of the condition of the body, it was difficult, if not impossible at least at the scene, to tell anything about the victim,” said Cmdr. Deon McCaulley.

Police spent part of Tuesday morning collecting evidence and trying to answer unanswered questions. Nobody wants answers more than Tina Leszyeski, whose sister Ashley has been missing for more than three weeks.

Ashley Leszyeski was last seen running an errand at East 93rd Street and Heath — a site near where the body was found.

Leszyeski said her sister has two young children and would never just leave. The family is hoping for the best but fears the worst.

“The next 24 hours are going to be the roughest,” said Tina Leszyeski.

The Leszyeski family and police are waiting for test results from the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. If you know anything about Ashley’s disappearance, the family asks you call police. Callers can remain anonymous.
