Pizza Driver Robbed Over Night

A pizza delivery driver was robbed and gunpoint overnight. The call came into police just after midnight about the robbery on Wager Street. The pizza driver got out of the car and the suspect was behind him pointing a gun at him.

The driver gave him the money he had and he took off. Police caught up with the suspect in the same area just about 15 minutes later. The driver was not injured and went to back to the Parsons Avenue Papa John’s Pizza place.

No word on how much money was taken from the driver. It doesn’t appear anyone actually ordered a pizza. SOURCE

 

Robbery at Thornton’s Gas Station

Police detectives are on the scene of a robbery at a Thornton`s Gas Station at Alum Creek Drive and Williams Road.  The suspect went into the gas station, picked up an alcoholic beverage and took it to the counter about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

When the clerk asked for identification, he put a bag on the counter and demands all of the money from the register. The clerk said, “Are you serious?”  The suspect replied, “you don’t want me to pull my gun.” The clerk complied and put all the money in the bag.  The suspect got away in a silver/gray vehicle and was seen on Alum Creek Drive. The clerk was not injured and were able to give police a good description of the robber.

Police say after reviewing surveillance video in the store, they say they do have good pictures of the suspect. He’s described as a black male, about 5’8″ tall, wearing a white shirt, dark jeans and a knitted cap with a bill. Columbus police’s crime scene investigation unit is now on the scene and are gathering any evidence that might have been left behind during the robbery. SOURCE

Man Charged In Connection With String Of Hilliard-Area Vehicle Break-Ins

Police say a man admitted to breaking into a number of vehicles in the Hilliard area.

According to court documents, William R. Thompson admitted to the break-ins that occurred in the area of Dexter Falls and Dublin Commons early Monday morning.

Thompson, 42, was found with blood on him and with stolen items.

Police said that Thompson said he was intoxicated and possibly broke into some cars.
