Music veterans Earth, Wind and Fire are back and this time, with a completely new album titled “Now, Then & Forever.”

Breaking the news via Billboard this week, Philip Bailey and Verdine White say their first album in eight years has been in the works for over two years.

“I said, ‘Let’s go back to the drawing board,'” Bailey told Billboard in an interview. “It’s a great representation of who Earth, Wind and Fire is now, but not departing from the classic sound.”

Led by the single “My Promise,” which was co-written by Grammy winner Siedah Garrett, Verdine White says the album is authentic Earth, Wind and Fire.

“It doesn’t sound like we’re trying to be anyone other than Earth, Wind and Fire,” said Verdine White.

“Now, Then & Forever” is due for release September 10. SOURCE
