JACKSON, Ohio – The Jackson County Coroner said on Thursday a 12-year-old boy shot and killed his 9-year-old half-brother before shooting and killing himself.
Autopsies were conducted on Thursday on the bodies of two young boys found dead inside their grandparents’ home on Wednesday.
The boys’ bodies were found in an upstairs bedroom at a house on East South Street.
On Thursday, police identified the boys as 12-year-old Austin Wiseman and 9-year-old Blake Campbell. The two boys were half-brothers.
The coroner said that the 12-year-old boy shot and killed his 9-year-old half-brother with a .44 revolver with a hollow point bullet.
Jackson City Police, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and multiple agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were on scene at the home on Wednesday for nearly nine hours to collect evidence.
