With music stars such as Jennifer Hudson, Luke James, Mary J. Blige, Jacob Latimore, and Tyrese among the cast of the 1967 remake of Langston Hughes’ holiday musical “Black Nativity,” R&B is showing up and showing out!

Academy-Award winner J-Hud portrays a single mother to Jacob Latimore’s character Langston, who is sent to Baltimore to spend Christmas with his grandparents. Jennifer sings “Silent Night” as one of the musical’s pieces. Luke James plays JoJo, a homeless man awaiting the birth of his child with his girlfriend Maria. Others in the film include rap vet Nas, Angela Bassett, and Forest Whitaker.
