Although The Amazing Spider-Man 2 won’t hit the big screen until 2014, director Marc Webb will be discussing his second entry in the rebooted Marvel Comics franchise film this weekend at Comic-Con 2013. Using a clip starring Jamie Foxx as super-villain Electro, Webb announced the date and time of a panel discussion he’s leading at the convention.
Foxx, an Academy Award winner, has been riding high after his star turn in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, which he credited for landing him the role of Maxwell Dixon/Electro. Although the photos released earlier this year showed Foxx in the villainous get-up, the teaser really showcases the special effects job from Webb and crew.
“I feel it in my bones, I feel it in my veins,” says Electro in the clip. “No matter what you do, doc, you can’t contain it.”
The villain continues with, “You wanna know how powerful I am?” Well, I wanna know too. I’m Electro!”
The clip shows Foxx strapped to some manner of machine that looks to boost the electrical power of Electro, which then swiftly changes to announcing that Webb will be speaking at 4:00 p.m. Friday (July 18) in San Diego.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, who returns to his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
