Early Sunday morning August 25th in Mecklenburg County in North Carolina singer Anthony Hamilton was stopped for speeding. During the stop officers suspected that Hamilton was under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody and released later that day. A DWI charge in N.C. can result in minimum jail time of anywhere from 24 hours to 2 years, a fine, and a license suspension, depending upon the offender’s record.
No word yet from Anthony Hamilton’s camp. He is scheduled to play the Howard Theatre in Washington D.C. on August 28th and 29th.
