Reggae singer Junior Murvin known for his international hit “Police And Thieves” died recently at the age of 67. Sources say the Junior Murvin was recently admitted to the hospital in his hometown in Jamaica.  He reportedly was receiving treatment for diabetes and hypertension related conditions.

Murvin worked alongside legendary producer Lee “Scratch” Perry on the single and his debut album, also titled Police and Thieves, which was released on Island Records in 1977. The single found a new audience through the punk movement, and was famously covered by the Clash.
