WILLOUGHBY, Ohio – A Columbus woman was arrested February 25 on an outstanding warrant by the Cleveland police for hoaxing co-workers back in 2010.
Jillian Knight, 34, informed co-workers that her son, Ryan, was diagnosed with a deadly type of lung cancer and would require special treatment. Over time, Knight expressed to her fellow employees about her son’s deteriorating condition.
Knight’s co-workers at Steak and Stone in Willoughby organized a fundraiser to help pay for Ryan’s medical bills.
A local tavern in Wickliffe held in the event in May 2010. More than $2,100 in donation were raised.
