NBC 4 reports that a 24-year-old man was shot and killed while sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in northeast Columbus. According to Columbus police, the shooting occurred shortly before 5 p.m. in the 2400 block of Peekskill Drive.

Arriving officers located Roger W. Burke Jr. sitting in the driver’s position of a white Nissan, with several apparent gunshot wounds. Burke was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead at 5:38 p.m.

The motive of the shooting is unknown. Police say the suspect or suspects were last seen fleeing form the area in a vehicle that was described as a four-door Acura that was silver or gray.
