Chicago Shuts Down Trump Rally

Hundreds of protestors gathered outside of the University Of Illinois hours before the lead Republican candidate was to take the stage. There was a physical altercation inside the auditorium between protestors and Trump supporters which triggered the campaign to cancel until a later date. This statement was released by the Trump campaign:
“Mr. Trump just arrived in Chicago and after meeting with law enforcement has determined that for the safety of all the tens of thousands of people that have gathered in and around the arena, tonight’s rally will be postponed to another date.”

Earlier in the day, 32 protestors were arrested in St. Louis, Missouri for repeatedly interrupting Trump during a similar rally. This all comes one day after a Trump supporter was charged with assault after multiple videos showed him punching an African American woman in North Carolina which Trump deemed ‘appropriate’.
