A fan in attendance gave a first hand account from a recent Katt Williams show at Tingley Auditorium in Albuquerque on Saturday June 25,  2011 which went horribly wrong.

The doors opened at 6pm. A band performed around 7. Shawty Shawty was the MC, and AJ Johnson performed a miserable set and was booed off the stage. After a myriad of attempts to blow smoke about where Katt was, the crowd began to “act up”. Mind you, it’s 100 degrees in Albuquerque right now, folks were drinking before during and after the concert. So by the time a huge chick fight broke out and they shut down the alcohol concessions, it was too late: everybody was already mad, hot and drunk. Samuel L Jackson was in the front row and I kept watching him to see if he was going to leave or not, assuming that he had first hand knowledge of what the hell was going on. Katt showed up looking disheveled and stressed around 10pm!! he walked around pacing and nervous, poured 2 bottles of water on his head but said nothing. A cop showed up on stage and [Katt] told us that he “may” get arrested due to some Ohio stuff. He cursed out a few people in the audience who were yelling at him and then he left the stage for about 40 minutes! He came back later and did a very weird set. Basically, he rambled until the cops turned the lights on at 2:15am. I am Katt’s age so I understood what he was philosphizing about, but most of the audience sat there scratching their heads.

R&B artsists Jill Scott and Anthony Hamilton stopped by the Tonight Show with Jay Leno to perform their duet single off of Scott’s newest album ‘The Light of The Sun’. The album will officially be out on Tuesday June 21st.

Legendary Funk master George Clinton is hospitalized with a staph infection in his leg.  George went in for routine check-up that led to a decision by doctors to admit him into an undisclosed hospital for treatment of a staph infection.  Clinton, 69, is expected to make a complete recovery.

Queen Latifah says,

“I’m so excited about it. This is something I have wanted to do for a very long time. I’ve been offered a lot of deals for clothing lines and actually started one that didn’t quite get off the ground but this is like a full circle moment for me,” Latifah stated. “This is a young 14-year old, 17-year old and 22-year old Dana trying to go shopping and actually finding the things she wants to wear or going on HSN and ordering the clothes she likes because they’re there and they are in her size. This has been a bit of a journey and it’s a really exciting venture.”

The line will officially launch in August.

“Single Ladies” is a comedic drama about Val, Keisha, and April – three best friends with different philosophies on sex and relationships.

Val ( Stacey Dash) is an ambitious aspiring fashion mogul who wants to find a true partner. Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy), on the other hand, is a former video dancer just looking for a rich man to keep her in style. April (Charity Shea,) has supposedly found the perfect man and the perfect marriage – but is learning that marriage isn’t necessarily a happy ending.

“Single Ladies” is a modern, sexy series set in the world of Atlanta fashion, music, and celebrity that will constantly explore which woman has the right approach to relationships.

The NAACP Image Award winning television show “Unsung” will kick off Black Music Month in June with 6 all-new episodes.  Unsung documents the current day life of legendary R&B music artists.

The new season kicks off Monday, June 6 at 10 p.m., with the biography of Deniece Williams. Future  episodes will feature The Spinners on June 13, Alexander O’Neal and Cherrelle on June 20, Big Daddy Kane on June 27, The Ohio Players on July 4, and Evelyn Champagne King on July 11.

The episodes will air weekly on Mondays at 10 p.m. and repeat at 1 a.m on the TV One television network.
