Ted Williams planned to give his now famous cardboard sign one last chance to make a buck, TMZ reported.
The man with the golden voice wanted to put the sign on eBay to raise money for the “Ted Williams Second Chance Foundation.”
During his homeless days, Williams used the sign to panhandle and was holding it the day he was discovered by a reporter from The Columbus Dispatch.
Williams had fallen on hard times but the sign advertised his gift of voice.
YouTube video of Williams demonstrating his talent launched him to stardom. His foundation aims to help other talented people who need “a hand up and not a handout.”
TMZ said the camouflage jacket Williams wore will also be for sale.
As of Friday evening there was no indication when the items would hit the auction block.
