Love is currently one of the top contenders for the Arnold IFBB Amateur International Women’s Bodybuilding Championship. Love is determined to be the FIRST female hometown winner.

Question: You aspire to become a fitness model like your role model, retired female bodybuilder, Lenda Murray. Why is Mrs. Murray someone you aspire to be like?

Answer: “Mrs. Murray is a female bodybuilder who kept her femininity. A lot of women are afraid of looking masculine and don’t want to become a bodybuilder. Linda Murry was a big advocate on keeping it female and having a feminine aspect. I am a girly girl, I just have muscles.”

Question: What has bodybuilding given you mentally?

Answer: “Mentally, I think about physical fitness completely different than I did two years ago. Two years ago I was a couch potato. It began after high school, not being involved in sports anymore, becoming a mom and working a job.

I had to show my children there was another option out there, you don’t have to be unhealthy. Being healthy is part of what make me drive, for them and showing them how to lead a healthy lifestyle.”

Question: To become prepared for there competitions, what is a normal daily routine for you?

Answer: “Close to a show, everyday i do cardio at 5:00 a.m for 45 minutes to an hour. I come home, get dressed for work, drop the kids off at school, and go to work (Monday through Thursday for 10 hours a day). I get off work, go straight to the gym and complete my weight lifting workout and cardio, that is about 2 hours in the gym in the evening. I come home, pack my lunch for the next day, take a shower and go to bed. Then get up and do it all over again.”

Question: As far as future plans: start a foundation providing motivational speaking, personal training, women seminars. Are these plans in the making or goals?

Answer: “Right now they are goals. Things are rolling a lot faster than I expected them to. I am set to start preparing for personal training as soon as the Arnold show is over with. So i am able to take a small break, have some time to study and to learn.

As far as the womens foundation, I am geared toward a lot of women who are my age or older. Women who have had children, who work, who have always wanted to get into shape and just don’t know where to start. I am that person, I was in the same exact position they are in. I think I would be a big benefit to help them get started, and show them the right things to do to hit their goals.”

Question: You used to be overweight. According to your friends and family “you carried it well”, but you were not happy. It there anything you would tell Mothers who are unhappy with themselves?

Answer: “Once you set your mind to it, you can do it. I am living proof that it can be done. It seems like its a hard, long road, but taking one day at a time and one meal at a time, it will happen. You will look in the mirror one day and it will seem like the changes happened over night.”

Question: So, all of this has happened over a span of two years?

Answer: June of ’09 is when i started working out hardcore and started to compete.
