HEAVY D’S CAUSE OF DEATH STILL UNKNOWN
The death of Heavy D on Tuesday still has fans in shock … and the cause of his death is still unknown.
The L.A. County coroner’s office said it probably will be six weeks before officials determine the cause of death, but there is speculation that the rapper had flu like symptoms and possibly pneumonia. Some studies show a link between obesity and pneumonia … which has doctors thinking his weight may have been a factor. Sources close to the star believe he may have suffered a heart attack, while others say he may have had a stroke.
Ed Winter, a coroner’s spokesman, said no illegal drugs were found at Heavy D’s Beverly Hills home, but a doctor had prescribed him a drug after the rapper experienced a cough.
The coroner plans toxicology tests, which are common in cases when a relatively young, healthy person dies unexpectedly. An autopsy was expected to occur in the next two days.
