The wait is finally over! Apple officially announced the latest version of the iPad yesterday. Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco that the third-generation iPad will go on sale March 16th. Pre-orders began yesterday. The new device will feature pricing options similar to previous models and will not have a different name, as previously speculated. But the iPad will have a better display, higher resolution, an improved camera and longer battery life. Cook called the iPad the “poster child of the post-PC era.” The price is $499, $599 and $699 for 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB respectively.
