This week’s “Crime of the Week” concerns a 2011 Homicide that occurred on Columbus’ Far East side.  Help us get justice for Mr. Wright and his family.

On Friday, May 20, 2011, at approximately 7:45pm, Columbus Patrol Officers were dispatched to 2031 Pine Needle Court.  When officers arrived they found 27- year old Dawann Wright (pictured above)  suffering from gunshot wounds. Mr. Wright was transported to Grant Hospital where he later passed away due to his injuries.

Investigators learned that Mr. Wright had been at the residence earlier. Shortly after leaving, Mr. Wright was on Myers Road, observed by witnesses, in a dispute with persons in a burgundy colored 1997-2001 Cadillac Catera automobile. The passenger in the car got out and shot Mr. Wright. Mr. Wright was able to make it back to the Pine Needle Court address.
