Aswad Ayinde, known for directing The Fugees‘ “Killing Me Softly” video in 1996 is now being hit with 27 charges after years of raping his daughters. Ayinde who also goes by the name of Charles McGill fathered six children with his daughters over a period 20 years dating back to the mid-1980s.

The 51-year-old former director has nine kids with his ex-wife Beverly and also has at least three kids with two other women in Brooklyn as well.

“He said the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen.” -Beverly Ayinde

Aswad will face the first of five trials next month after being held on $1 million bond. He was hit with 27 charges including aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, lewdness, child endangerment, aggravated criminal sexual contact and criminal sexual contact.

Some of the crimes happened while the family was being investigated by the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services. The investigation began after Ayinde admitted to an attempt to snatch his children from a hospital in 2000 while the state had temporary custody of them.

Aswad Ayinde reportedly kept his children quiet by beating them with wooden boards or kicking them with steel-toed boots.
