Mary J. Blige’s father is in critical condition after being attacked by his former girlfriend. The Battle Creek Enquirer reports he was stabbed three times, including once in the neck.
Reportedly, 63-year-old Thomas Blige was a victim of a domestic dispute that went down with his former lover in an apartment in Battle Creek, Mich. The stabbing was so bad, Blige was taken to nearby Bronson Methodist Hospital and rushed into surgery.

According to police, the knife believed to be used in the attack was found at the crime scene, along with blood in the snow near the entrance drive.
Authorities say the 50-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with assault with an intent to murder. She was transported to the Calhoun County jail.
The R&B songstress has yet to make a public statement about her father’s health status.
