An L.A. law firm is accusing Motown recording legend Smokey Robinson of accumulating over $170,000 of unpaid legal bills. Attorneys for the law firm of King Holmes Paterno & Berliner say the Motown legend hasn’t paid a cent since 2010 although Smokey’s continued to utilize the firm’s services. The firm says that Mr. Robinson owes them over $64,000 for legal services rendered in 2013.
A rep for Smokey Robinson’s camp says the law firm made negiotations without consulting him first. Smokey plans to countersue.
