Here’s an interesting story… a pastor in Tampa, Florida at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church called the mother of a deceased man less than 24 hours before he was to be buried. Julie Atwood was informed that her 42-year old son, Julion Evans, could not be buried because he was gay. She was standing at his casket during the wake when her phone rang. The church pastor told her that even though his church had agreed to bury her son and even though she and her son both grew up in his church, he could not be buried due to his lifestyle.
