According to 10TV, a jury has found two Columbus teens guilty of murder. Nathaniel Brunner and Devonere Simmonds were tried for one of the at least three shootings they committed in July 2013.

The two shot and killed Imran Ashgar. The 34-year-old clerk was killed inside his south side convenience store. Police say Simmonds and Brunner were tied to other shootings. They took off from the area after stealing a car. At one point, they were picked up along the side of the road and given a ride by an Ohio Highway Patrol trooper.

They ended up involved in another carjacking where a man was shot at a Madison County TA Travel Center along I-70. Simmonds and Brunner were eventually caught in Dayton, sleeping in the stolen vehicle.

Simmonds was also charged in the death of Quinten Ellis-John Prater. Prater’s shooting death occurred just three days before the murder of Ashgar.

The man they shot in Madison County, William Rudd, survived and was one of the key witnesses in the trial. Jurors were also shown what was described as gruesome surveillance video.

On Friday, it took the jury only several hours to find the two guilty.
