According to ABC 6, a man has been indicted for murder in the death of 14-month-old Cameron Beckford.

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced Kurt Flood, age 24, has been indicted for one count Murder, one count Felonious Assault, one count Child Endangering, one count Tampering with Evidence, and one count Gross Abuse of a Corpse , for a total of five counts, in connection to the death of 14 month old toddler, Cameron Beckford.

Beckford died as a result of blunt force trauma to the body in December 2014. The toddler’s body was found in Big Walnut Creek near the defendant’s home.

Cameron’s mother, Dainesha Stevens, moved from Maryland to Columbus in December after she said Flood offered her a place to stay.

Stevens moved with her six-year-old daughter and 14-month-old son who she said Flood considered “possessed.”

In court Friday, prosecutors said Flood believed in the cult “Da 13th Sun” which preaches against demons on Twitter and YouTube.

Stevens admitted she allowed Flood to beat her children to “drive the demons away.” Prosecutors say the abuse went on for two weeks straight in December with sticks and leather belts.

Arraignment for Flood is set for Wednesday, April 1, at 1:30 p.m.
