Roland Martin talks about the gentrification in Oakland, where a church was sent a $3500 fine for being too loud at choir rehearsal. He talks to journalist Mr. Davey DĀ about the issues the community is facing.
“There are new people moving in from other parts of the country that don’t understand the multicultural in this society. During the Red Moon, this one white dude moved in and called in and demanded to see a permit. He went and called the police. 13 police were called and two of the black drummer were detained for four hours,” Davie said. “Three churches got letters from the city administrators saying they’d be fined if they didn’t calm down.”
