Officer Shelby Temporarily Deaf During Traffic Stop

Officer Betty Shelby claims she was ‘temporarily deaf’ during altercation with motorist Terence Crutcher. This is a condition named auditory exclusion which happens when a person is under high stress and suffer temporary hearing loss. Shelby is charged with felony manslaugher in the first degree and posed $50,000 bond 23 minutes after being booked. Her Attorney Scott Wood also added that Shelby “didn’t hear the police sirens from the additional vehicles, she didn’t hear when Officer Tyler Turnbough arrived, nor did she hear him announce to her that he has his Taser.”
