Dayton native and Ohio Player Walter “Junie” Morrison passed away yesterday at the age of 62. Junie was best knows for being a multi-instrumental, ground breaking composer, vocalist and producer in the late 70s. He was musical director for  George Clinton and Parliament/Funkdelic and released 3 solo albums and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. More recent, Grammy award winning singer Solange shouted him out  on her album A Seat at the Table, “I was a bit taken aback by the surprise but very appreciative that she wanted to put time and energy into creating it.” He added, “Suffice it to say, I was like, WHAAAT???!!!”.  The cause of Morrison’s death is still unknown.
