Rihanna stays winning whether she receives awards or not. One institution who has taken notice of the pop star’s humanitarian efforts is Havard University.
According to USA Today, the Anti singer will be named the 2017 Harvard University Humanitarian of the Year. She will stop by the Ivy school to accept her award on Tuesday, which will be a swarm of students and fans.
The Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award will be presented to her for charitable work including helping to build a breast cancer screening and treatment center in her hometown of Barbados.
“She has also created the Clara Lionel Foundation Scholarship Program (named for her grandmother and grandfather) for students attending college in the U.S. from Caribbean countries,” Harvard Foundation director S. Allen Counter said in the announcement. “And supports the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen Project, a multi-year campaign that will provide children with access to education in over 60 developing countries, giving priority to girls and those affected by a lack of access to education in the world today.”
We love us some RiRi and give her many props to her charitable work she has put in through the years.
