This morning Democrats are calling for the resignation of General Attorney Jeff Sessions for failing to disclose meetings that he had with Russia ambassadors in 2016. “I never met with any Russian officials to discuss issues of the campaign,” Sessions said in an intense confirmation hearing with Congress. “Sessions is not fit to serve as the top law enforcement officer of our country and must resign,” said Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the House Democratic leader. “There must be an independent, bipartisan, outside commission to investigate the Trump political, personal and financial connections to the Russians.” A spokesperson for the Justice Department Sarah Isgur Flores jumped to Sessions defense saying there was absolutely nothing misleading about the answers given by Sessions in the confirmation hearing, “He was asked during the hearing about communications between Russia and the Trump campaign — not about meetings he took as a senator and a member of the Armed Services Committee.” Stay with Magic 95.5 as this story develops.
