No money can ever replace your child.
Michael Brown’s parents would rather see justice than money but after a grand jury refused to indict the cop who killed their child they did win in civil court.
According to ABC News, the city of Ferguson will pay the Browns $1.5 million in a settlement to cover lawyer fees. U.S. District Judge E. Richard Webber says the settlement is “a reasonable amount.”
Michael Brown was 18-years-old when he was killed by Officer Darren Wilson in 2014. The civil suit stated that Wilson used “excessive force” and was a reflection on the city’s police department who are “hostile to black residents.”
