Former NBA player Lamar Odom posted an essay on The Players’ Tribune late last week, explaining what his experience was like after waking up after being in a coma for 4 days. In 2006, Odom lost an infant son during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers.
“You don’t even know why you’re doing it at that point. I think subconsciously, you make yourself an addict because of the trauma that you’re going through.”
He admitted that he was doing cocaine every day leading up to his overdose and that he cared about nothing but getting high.
Lamar Odom was a member of the LA Lakers and won 2 championships at the side of Kobe Bryant. He was found in a Las Vegas brothel unconscious and was in a coma for 4 days in 2015.
