Congratulations to the Africentric boys basketball team on a 54-52 victory over undefeated Harvest Prep Thursday evening in the OHSAA Division III State Semifinals at Value City Arena.
The Nubians, who were led by senior Tre Baumgardner (22 points) and junior Dorian Holloway (13 points), advanced to their first state championship game in school history where they will face another undefeated foe, Cincinnati Deerpark Saturday at 2pm.
Should Africentric capture the title Saturday, it would come exactly one week after the Lady Nubians won the State championship on the same floor.
Harvest Prep, whose was the No. 1 ranked team in the state, was led in scoring by sophomore CJ Anthony (20 points) and Soul Hines who finished with 13.
