There are no friends, only foes for at least this week in Pickerington. The suburb that divides two powerhouse football schools, clash Friday night in their annual gridiron rival, but one small problem could take away a slight advantage for one team.

The game, originally scheduled to held at Pickerington Central High School, will now be held at Gahanna Lincoln High school due to “poor field conditions and a soft field” according to the Pickerington Local School District

The game, which typically sells out, will now see more than 7,000 fans pack the stand at Gahanna Friday night where the No. 5 state ranked Pick Central Tigers take on their cross town rival Pick North Panthers.

According to 10tv.com, police are pooling resources. Pickerington’s DARE school resource officer will team up with police and a large contingency of Pickerington principals, assistant principals, and administrative staff will attend the game like they do every week, because they’re familiar with the students and the fans. Police agree that while the rivalry on the field is intense.

Kick off if at 7pm.
