Former Hilliard Davidson graduate Markus Bailey received top Big Ten honors Monday.Bailey was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week following Purdue’s huge upset over the No. 2 team in the nation, Ohio State. The junior linebacker had a game-high 15 tackles, including eight solo stops. Bailey had a statement interception, returning it 41 yards for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. He was the first Boilermaker to record 15 or more tackles since Anthony Spencer had 15 against Notre Dame in 2006.This was Bailey’s first Defensive Player of the Week honor and the first Purdue player selected for this honor since 2015.
