On Tuesday, Columbus City Council agreed to put in a vote for a five percent increase on all tickets. This tax increase will raise $6 million and help behind Columbus arts programs and museums.

“This added revenue will allow places like the Columbus Museum of Art and The Franklin Park Conservatory to continue to offer free days to those who can’t afford it,” said Tom Katzenmeyer, President and CEO of Greater Columbus Arts Council.

Along with the tax increase, Nationwide Arena will donate 20 percent of profits to art programs.

The city council will have a public hearing about the proposal on Thursday.
