Commuters in Columbus can now take a free ride on the self-driving vehicle throughout Downtown now as apart of the city’s Smart Circuit.

Three vehicles that loop around downtown Columbus made its debut Monday morning. The route includes stops at COSI, the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, the Smart Columbus Experience Center and Bicentennial Park.

The vehicles, which uses radar and sensors to drive mostly on its own, run seven days a week from 6 am until 10pm. A human operator stays in the vehicle at all times in the driver’s seat in case they need to take over.

According to their spokesperson, Smart Columbus said it is looking at other routes in central Ohio neighborhoods to give commuters options for their transportation.
