The El Capitan Theatre Hosts Marvel Studios's "Avengers: Endgame" Opening Day Marathon Event

Avengers: Endgame’s opening weekend became a historical moment when the film crushed box office records with an incredible $350 million in North America and $1.2 billion worldwide.

The movie became the first film ever to exceed $1 billion during its opening weekend. It arrived at the billion-dollar mark in five days, more than twice as fast as the year-old Avengers: Infinity War, which had previously reached the record in 11 days. Endgamealso set domestic and international records.

The fourth and final Avengers superhero movie beat Infinity War records by almost $100 million domestically and an impressive $560 million worldwide. China also grossed a stunning $330.5 million over the five-day launch weekend.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film features a star-studded cast of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Bradley Cooper, and Josh Brolin.

Endgame is the 22nd movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which opened with 2008’s Iron Man. Together, the films have surpassed $19 billion at the worldwide box office.
