Prince continued to rock out at a private, candlelit jam session at Butter Wednesday night after his second concert at Madison Square Garden for his “Welcome to America” tour. The Purple One earlier played the Garden with opening act Janelle Monae and Cyndi Lauper and took both to the NoHo eatery in the wee hours for a set, along with the Roots. According to partygoers, Prince played guitar for a duet with Monae of her song “Say You’ll Go” and later performed a 25-minute set with Lauper of a medley of old-school soul hits including, Sly and the Family Stone’s “Everyday People.” Roots drummer ?uestlove joined him to round out the performance. Said one witness, “The whole audience was jumping up and down while fans were trying to crowd the door outside in order to hear and catch a glimpse.”
