Vanessa Simmons Reveals How Rev. Run Reacted To Her Pregnancy News
Earlier this week, all-grown-up celebrity seed Vanessa Simmons let the world know that she is currently pregnant and expecting a baby girl.
Naturally, once the news got out, speculation swirled as to how her father Rev. Run would react to his daughter being pregnant and unmarried.
Well, in so many words, Vanessa says it’s all good.

Vanessa Simmons is a self-proclaimed daddy’s girl. So imagine her nerves when she had to tell her famous dad, hip-hop legend Rev. Run, that she was pregnant without being married to boyfriend Mike Wayans.
“There’s this whole idea of first comes the marriage then the baby carriage so I was so nervous,” she tells ESSENCE.com. “But my dad was actually really excited because this is the first grandchild for my family.”
“I think somewhere deep inside he was kinda like, ‘When am I going to experience that part of life?’”
“Of course he wants us to get married, but for now he was like, ‘We’re gonna figure this out. Just be happy and have a healthy pregnancy. I’m behind you a hundred percent.’”
Simmons says her father’s encouragement “meant the world” to her.

Although Rev Run saying “we’re gonna figure this out” most likely translates to “Mike, you have 9 months to find a ring.” Just saying. SOURCE
