U.S. Capitol and Whitehouse under lockdown this afternoon
There were two different incidents this afternoon in Washington D.C. The Whitehouse is under lockdown because someone tried to jump the Whitehouse fence. Gunshots that rang out in the Capitol Visitor center and “Active shooter” alert went out all over the building, described by multiple eye witnesses. By standards outside were told to “seek cover away from the area” DCPD reports there is ‘no active threat to the public’ behind these incidents. A male suspect was shot at the Capitol Complex by Capitol Police and is being taken into custody.
