Sources report that classic soul singer Etta James is hospitalized in a southern California hospital. She reportedly has been suffering from a serious infection. Her son, Sametto James, told the Riverside Press-Enterprise that his mother was admitted earlier this week for treatment of sepsis caused by a urinary tract infection. Sepsis is a potentially deadly blood poisoning caused by a bacterial infection. “At Last” was one of the biggest songs for her. James is the winner of 4 Grammy Awards and 17 Blues Music Awards. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
