While you were sleeping, the Senate voted to take away Obamacare with no replacement and still failed.

While President Donald Trump may want you to think he is “winning” the Senate just handed him another presidential fail.

Late Thursday night the Republican run Senate tried one more time to repeal the Affordable Care Act but with no replacement. The vote to repeal core components of the ACA ended with a 49-51 vote, with Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, John McCain of Arizona and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska joining with all 46 of the chamber’s Democrats and both of its independents to defeat the measure.

McCain who is fighting brain cancer came back in time to cast his vote and said he could not vote to repeal the ACA without a better replacement for the American people.

President Trump who called McCain to try to sway his vote vented some of his frustrations on Twitter (of course).

Though Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell asked the president to move on from repeal after the vote, the fight is not over if we have 4 years with Donald Trump.
