Columbus Metropolitan Libraries have kicked off Summer Reading Challenge. The Summer Reading Challenge is a 9-week challenge, and participants earn points by reading anything of their choice, by finding secret codes, attending programs at the libraries, and reviewing books!

Kathy Shahbodaghi, Public Services Director, explains the importance of the Summer Reading Challenge, “For parents that are worried about their child’s school success, reading during the Summer Reading Challenge is a way to keep your students reading skills strong. Kids who don’t crack a book actually lose reading skills over the summer.”

The Summer Reading Challenge requires a library card but is free to join.
