There were a lot of awards given out last night at the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards but the most exciting moment of the night is when Chadwick Boseman accepted his award for “Best Super Hero” and then he gave the award away.
Boseman honored real life superhero James Shaw Jr, who is well known as the “Waffle House Hero.” Shaw is the young man who wrestled an assault-style rifle away from a gunman in a Tennessee Waffle House in April. Boseman said while it was an honor to be recognized for playing a superhero, it was more important to “acknowledge the heroes we have in real life.” As he gave Shaw the trophy, Boseman said, “this going home with you.”
Another highlight of the night was Michael B. Jordan’s speech where he threw a jab at Roseanne. Watch the video below:
