This is mind-blowing! The Franklin County Coroners office is reporting a major spike in drug overdose deaths.
According to MyFox28Columbus.com, the coroner, Dr. Anahi M. Ortiz, said, “Between 8 a.m. Monday and 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, five people died from apparent overdoses. For those Franklin County residents with family or friends that might be at risk for an overdose, please take the necessary steps to have Naloxone available for them.”
Ortiz said naloxone, a lifesaving tool for opiate overdoses, can be found at any pharmacy without a prescription. She and her team are working to confirm if the deaths were related to fentanyl.
