This week’s “Crime of the Week” concerns a Homicide that occurred on the North side of Columbus.
On Sunday, May 13, 2012, at approximately 3:00am, the body of Tremayne Barnes, a 34-year old male from Louisiana was found in Room #241 at the Motel 6 on E. Dublin-Granville Road. Mr. Barnes had been shot numerous times. Tremayne Barnes was in Columbus for work. Two suspects were involved in the murder. Investigators obtained surveillance photos of one suspect at a nearby BP gas station, as well as a photo of a gold 4-door sedan possibly driven by the suspect. Investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying the man in these photos(abpve), described as Male/Black, dark complexion, late 20’s, 6’4”, 270lbs, short cut black hair, wearing a white logo baseball cap, black tee shirt, knee length purple shorts, white ankle length socks and black athletic shoes.
A second possible suspect is described as: Male/Black, dark complexion, late 20s, 5’10”, 190lbs, with neck-length dreadlocks.
Crime Stoppers has posted a reward of up to $2,000.00 for any information received by June 20, 2012, leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the persons responsible for this crime.
