In my mind Michelle Obama and I are homegirls. We go shopping every Sunday afternoon–usually after brunch, and then we walk it off by traversing leisurely through our favorite department stores, before hitting a few boutiques for those unique pieces. Yep, she’s my shopping BFF.
Last night at the Democratic National Convention, Michelle Obama stunned the crowd with her electrifying speech and that incredible iridescent custom-made frock by Tracy Reese. On her feet were the perfect pair of heels by J. Crew (you can buy them here). She was so stunning, I could barely even listen to watch she was saying! I wasn’t alone because just minutes into her speech, it seemed like all of Twitter was asking what—or rather who—was she wearing?
“In the midst of fashion week preparations, seeing the First Lady in one of my designs was a truly extraordinary moment,” Reese tells Fashionista.com “She evokes so much confidence, strength and humility.”
It’s clear that Tracy Reese is one of Michelle Obama’s go-to designer for events, and for good reason–her pieces are timeless and wear well on any body shape. As I perused Tracy Reese’s website I found a few other dresses inspired by Michelle Obama’s DNC look that are must-haves! Check them out in the gallery below:
