Though she doesn’t feel that drama was necessary to draw attention to the new season of “American Idol,” Mariah Carey says it might just help the show.
Looking back at her now infamous clash with Nicki Minaj, Carey says she did what she needed to do, including hiring security, because it was the appropriate thing to do when feeling “unsafe.”

“It felt like an unsafe work environment. Anytime anybody’s reeling threats at somebody, you know, it’s not appropriate. I’m a professional. I’m not used to that type of environment. “For me, ultimately, this is about the kids, the contestants,” says Carey. “I’ve been blessed to live my dream more than half my life, so I want help give that back to someone else.” READ MORE
